Spotlight: On the Go Therapy Services Will Come to Your Home for Your Therapy Needs

It can be hard to get to physical therapy or other therapy appointments if you have mobility issues.

On the Go Therapy physical therapists will come to your home to offer one-to-one care.

On the Go Therapy founder Julie A. Blank realized early in her physical therapy career that in most communities, there was a gap in therapy services between home healthcare and traditional outpatient therapy provided in a clinic. Julie’s innovative solution was the development of a home-based outpatient therapy program, to help bridge that gap.

Since starting in July 2002, On the Go therapy has been readily welcomed by doctors, hospitals, social workers, and the Sarasota/Bradenton community. The business has grown to more than 20 staff members who travel between Palmetto and Port Charlotte to help clients.

Therapy services offered by On the Go include:

  • Physical therapy
  • Occupational therapy
  • Prosthetic training
  • Mobility device assessments
  • Home safety assessments
  • Speech therapy
  • Aquatic therapy
  • Therapeutic exercise
  • LSVT Big program for Parkinson’s disease. This is a national program that requires special training to assist those with Parkinson’s disease.
  • …..and more.

In addition to offering mobile, home-based care, another feature that distinguishes On the Go is its commitment to spending more time with patients. On-the-go therapists spend more time working directly with clients versus filling out paperwork. That means a client will get direct therapy for 45 to 75 minutes instead of a much shorter time. This care is truly one-to-one versus a traditional physical therapy setting, where several people are seen at one time.

On the Go is also an option for those with Medicare who are now limited by how much home health care they can receive. You can contact On the Go for additional support once those home health care limitations are reached.

Once any medically necessary therapy ends, On the Go is happy to provide regular maintenance and prevention appointments.

In addition to in-home care, On the Go also has a Sarasota location at 5968 Clark Avenue. On the Go’s sister company, Excell Rehab is located at 2970 University Pkwy, Suite 105, in Sarasota.
