Fiduciary Services
Trust and estate administration services for seniors play a pivotal role in providing peace of mind and financial security during later stages of life. As we age, the need to carefully plan and manage assets, property, and healthcare directives becomes increasingly complex. Designating agents is critical and one of the most important decisions. Our services offer a dependable and expert-driven solution to help seniors navigate the intricate landscape of estate planning, ensuring that their wishes are honored, their loved ones are cared for, and their financial legacies are preserved. Licensed Secure Aging professionals can serve as power of attorney and health care surrogate.
Trust and Estate Administration
When it comes to trust and estate administration, choosing a family member as your agent may become burdensome if the chosen agent is an adult child who is also a busy professional with their own family responsibilities. Most often, our adult children lack the knowledge to perform these roles. This provides added stress to families at a time when crises occur. Having knowledgeable professionals perform the services of the agent or healthcare advocates often allows for familial relationships to remain loving and supportive, as intended, without the stress of making complex decisions.
Our services offer a dependable and expert-driven solution to help seniors navigate the intricate landscape of estate planning, ensuring that their wishes are honored, their loved ones are cared for, and their financial legacies are preserved.
Licensed Secure Aging professionals can serve as agents in the following roles:
- Personal Representative / Executor – Named agent in a last will whose role is to perform services for the estate.
- Independent Trustee / Successor Trustee – an Individual appointed in the trust document who acts as a fiduciary. The Trustee must perform services and carry out the wishes listed in the trust document while acting in the best interests of the beneficiaries.

It’s Never Too Late to Meditate. Meditation Tips for Older Adults
If you care for an older adult who you think may benefit from learning to meditate, now’s a great time to get them started. Meditation encourages self-awareness and non-judgement while also providing a host of physical and mental health benefits, including:
- Reducing anxiety and depression
- Helping with sleep
- Helping to manage pain
- Bolstering attention and focus
- Increasing body awareness, which may help to reduce or prevent injuries
- Providing another way to engage the body and mind no matter what level of ability or mobility you have
Seniors who are retired and eager to find new things to try also may enjoy meditation as they have more time to learn about it compared to earlier in life when they might have been overwhelmed with other responsibilities.
Here are some tips for seniors new to meditation:
- Find a comfortable position. You don’t need to necessarily sit in a cross-legged position on the floor, as you might think. The important thing is finding a body position that’s comfortable for you. You can even lie down while meditating if you wish.
- Start small. Meditation doesn’t need to be a marathon session lasting 30 minutes or more. Even just one minute of deep breathing can benefit your health for starters. You can gradually work up to more time.
- Use all available help. There are plenty of guided meditation classes and videos available, so use them to walk you through what to do. Here’s a five-minute meditation video from Silver Sneakers, and here’s a two-minute video from AARP. If you look up “meditation” or “meditation for seniors” on YouTube, you’ll find many other videos. You may even find in-person classes at local gyms, yoga studios, or senior centers.
- Don’t worry if you find yourself having other thoughts beyond focusing on your breath. That’s completely normal. Just gently guide yourself back to your breath or any other intention that you have for meditation.
- Find an ideal time to meditate, but don’t worry too much about when. It’s great to be able to meditate when everything is quiet, such as in the morning before others awake or at night when it’s quiet. However, there’s no limit on when you can practice. The best time is when works for you, and that could even mean small increments throughout the day.
Enjoy learning more about meditation and the peace and calm it can help provide.
